“Josh executed an exceptional education event for our West Virginia Young Presidents' Organization chapter. From the start, he was easy to work with and enabled us to design a bespoke day of learning that included breathwork, fitness, and hot/cold exposure. He led additional resources to produce a one-of-a-kind experience for our members that received rave reviews. Multiple participants have told me it was the best event they've attended in years of YPO experiences.”

"I first noticed Josh at my gym in New York City, doing things with his clients I’d never seen before—rope climbs, kettlebell lunges, push-ups, heavy ball slams, rowing—unique combinations that made every workout dynamic and purposeful. Once we began training together, I was struck by his personal investment, creativity, and attention to detail. Josh didn’t just coach me during our sessions—he thought about my progress long after, continually refining and redesigning our approach to help me reach my goals. Every few months, he introduced new movements, new ways of thinking, and new challenges that kept me engaged and growing. Beyond the physical training, he became a trusted friend with phenomenal expertise—truly a bespoke coach devoted to my well-being. Even as our paths have diverged, he continues to check in, share insights, and support my journey. I’ve never had a partner in fitness—or in life—who’s shown such dedication, care, and genuine friendship. I’m proud and grateful to call Josh not just my coach, but my dear friend.

"Working with Josh has been a game changer for my running. Over several seasons, he’s developed three ultra marathon training plans for me — each uniquely adapted to my changing schedule and needs. His depth of knowledge in injury prevention, nutrition, strength, mobility, and breath work is exceptional. I trusted the plans and as a result, have completed many ultra marathons to date. Josh offers the perfect balance of encouragement and realism, guiding with both compassion and honesty. His continual growth as a coach is evident in the thoughtfulness of his plans and the consistent support he provides. I’ve achieved every goal I set while staying injury-free — a testament to his expertise and commitment."

"Working with Josh through Mission1Race was nothing short of transformative. After my first attempt at the 250-mile journey ended in near disaster—hospitalized, with my health hanging in the balance—Josh came alongside me with coaching, training plans, and accountability that reshaped everything. Through his guidance in breathwork, warm-ups, safe training, and personalized adjustments, I was able to prepare in a way that was sustainable, holistic, and life-giving. The result was night and day: I finished strong, healthy, and happy, surrounded by community rather than collapsing into urgent care. What sets Josh apart is his character, coaching ability, and conviction. He carries a deep inclusivity that welcomes people of every background and communicates with clarity and inspiration. He is not a coach of shame, but of vision—able to discern what’s needed and repackage it in a clear, motivating way. His conviction for holistic wellness and sustainable movement impacts not only events like Mission1Race but the lives of everyone he coaches. I would recommend Josh without hesitation to anyone pursuing an endurance event, health and wellness goals, or simply a stronger, more balanced life."

“I worked with Josh Fly for years as my trainer. He brings such good positive energy to our sessions. It’s very hard not to walk away feeling refreshed and renewed. He always talked about our workouts as a part of the big picture of our lives. His focus was always about your whole self. He was the fitness director at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan, one of the biggest and best gyms around. The good vibe he brought to that job was palpable and contagious. He was always scheming up an event, often for charity, and creating a feeling of inclusion and community around it.”

Josh has coached and written training plans for me that included activities ranging from hiking a mountain to running a 100 miler. One of the things that has impressed me about Josh's coaching is his expansive knowledge base, which includes breath work, the differences between female and male runners, strength exercises to boost performance or address injuries, and assisting in the growth of the individual's mind, body, and soul. Josh is an encourager and a great listener. He asks intuitive questions that often help me process and get to the root of my occasional struggles with training or races. Josh has been a God send!
